The Pretty Committee is spending the summer apart, but they’re never far from drama… Five girls.  Five stories.  One ah-mazing summer.

 The Clique Summer Collection: Massie

Massie gets BE-yoo-tiful…

After Massie Block gets kicked off her high horse and out of her ultra exclusive Westchester riding camp, her parents force her to do the unthinkable-find a summer job. Not one for dog-walking or brat-sitting, Massie comes up with the ah-bvious solution: She’ll be a sales rep for the cosmetics brand Be Pretty. Massie fully hearts her new role as fairy gawdmother of makeup-until she discovers transforming LBRs into glam-girls takes more than a swish of her royal purple mascara wand.

The Clique Summer Collection: Dylan

Game, Svet, Match…

Dylan and her TV-host mom are off to Hawaii’s Aloha Tennis Open. While Merri-Lee interviews tennis’s wild child Svetlana “Tennis the Menace” Slootskyia, Dylan lets the tropical sun melt away the memory of getting dumped by two guys at the end of seventh grade. But between avocado mud masks and poolside naps, she falls in love with a preppy, tennis- obsessed hawtie. Dylan soon realizes the only way to score a date with him is to master the game. Can she convince moody Svetlana to spill the secrets of her tennis success, or will she end up oh-for-three in summer love?

The Clique Summer Collection: Alicia

Alicia takes on Mission Spalfa: Spanish Alpha! Back in Spain to visit her relatives, Alicia discovers that Spain’s newest pop sensation ¡Ignacio! is searching for a true Spanish beauty to star in his new hit-single video. She can’t believe her luck! If Alicia is cast as a true Spanish beauty, Massie will never call her fake-Spanish again. The only trick: She’ll have to beat her super-bonita cousins to win the coveted spot. Adios, bimbos!

The Clique Summer Collection: Kristen

KRISTEN MEETS A HANG-TEN HAWTIE!

While the rest of the Pretty Committee have scattered across the globe, Kristen gets stuck spending her summer landlocked in Westchester. Just when she’s about to send an SOS to her friends to rescue her from her summer of boredom and solitude, she scores a job looking after hang-ten hawtie Dune Baxter’s younger sister, Ripple. Suddenly, Kristen goes from bored to board as she rides the wave of first love…

The Clique Summer Collection: Claire

Battle of the BFFs!

Back in Orlando for the summer, Claire is reunited with her Florida best friends, Sarah, Sari, and Mandy, after a long year apart. Her FBFs haven’t changed at all. Too bad they think Claire has . . . and not for the better. Claire sets out to prove her loyalty by entering Kissimmee’s Miss Kiss pageant. But when a very special visitor shows up and vows to win the crown, Claire finds herself torn between Keds and couture. Will Claire finally kiss-immee her past goodbye-once and for all?

  1. I believe this summer will be the best summer of my life. Why? I am transitioning from being a teacher (a wonderful job) to being a librarian (an even better job!), and I will be welcoming my first child into the world. Two amazing adventures in one summer! I’m not sure that can ever be topped!

My middle school girls love The Clique series and this giveaway would be a great addition to my library! Thanks!

  2. My best summer was spent doing an internship in DC. I loved all the history in that city and I lived with several wonderful people. Maryland and Virginia are beautiful and I loved that I could quickly get from one state to another.

  3. The best summer of my life was last year. My sister nannied for a family that had a house in the Turks and they invited me along for free! You can’t beat three weeks on a tropical island with a house next to the ocean. The best part was walking out into the ocean, a few yards from the house, and snorkeling in the most beautiful coral reef. Those three weeks created memories that will last a lifetime.

  4. My best summer was two years ago. I got my first teaching job and got married. I’m sure I’ll have many wonderful summers to come, but the starts of two incredible chapters in my life, personal and professional, can’t be beat so far.

  5. My best summer has to have been the summer I got married. My husband and I took 3 weeks and camped in the desert southwest. We ate great food, stayed in amazing places, learned about the Anasazi indians, and generally started our married life off beautifully.

  7. Six years ago, I left the US for the first time. I was a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding at a resort St. John. Then I took a three week trip with 40 middle school students across Europe. It was fabulous, and I’ve been traveling every summer with students since. After my trip, I met my husband, and at the end of the summer I adopted the best puppy ever. We are a happy family now. 🙂 mzzmorrizz@gmail.com

  8. My best summer ever was the first summer I worked at a summer camp. (Worked there 6 more summers too!) I loved making friends with the other counselors, having a blast with my campers (age 13-14), getting paid to play kick ball and collecting dozens of friendship bracelets.

  9. Last year was the best summer of my life while this summer’s off to a good, competitive start!

Summer of ’08 started off with a Memorial weekend trip to Key West where my husband and I stayed at a B&B, motored around in a scooter, and attended a friend’s wedding. We rarely take trips that are for just the two of us. Our trips usually consist of traveling back home to the midwest to visit family and friends.

After post-planning, we flew up to husband’s hometown of Story City, IA for the annual Scandinavian Days – my first experience even though my husband and I have been together since ’01. It was fun to see his family and to experience small town festivities that remind me so much of my own childhood.

Not long after our trip to Iowa, I flew home to Kansas City, MO alone to visit my family and friends. My mother lives in California and was making a rare appearance in KC so I had to be there when she was, too. I had some girly-bonding time with my mother, grandmother, and my longtime best girlfriends.

After being out of town the entire month of June, I found myself at home in July with a whole month before me – nothing to do until preplanning in August. I needed a project and I found the perfect solution – a puppy! I spend the rest of my summer training and playing with my new best friend!

I always thought summers could never be as good as when I was a child, but lately I’m finding that they can be even better. 🙂
