Summer reading?

It’s officially summer now that we have entered July! Even though I feel like I have less time for reading after starting my summer job, I am trying to get in as much as possible. What are you reading right now? What do you plan to read this summer?

  1. Just started reading Notebook Know How by Aimee Buckner which lays out nice strategies for launching a Writer’s Notebook in class. Looks promising and kinda reminds me of Erin Gruwell’s Freedom Writer’s.

Although I teach fifth grade I am a landscaper over the summer. Each morning we load up in the dusty ole truck and drive off for about 1 and 45 minutes until we reach our shadeless field so I have a good chunk of time for reading.

Hope you enjoy your summer reading.

  2. Oh! Notebook Know-how is a GREAT book! Enjoy!

I am a secretary in the summer, so every time I think I have a second to read, the phone starts ringing off the hook. It’s inevitable.
